Design and construction of two luxury contemporary residences built on a steep narrow site. The sites’ constraints presented an opportunity to overlap the two residences and allow full-length facades to capture surrounding views.
5 Cammeray Road sits over two levels with high ceilings and large skylights to capture optimum natural light being a south facing residence. Large sliding doors overlap and connect the inside to the outside for a seamless flow. Recycled timber stairs connect levels and create focal points while limestone flows throughout the living spaces create light and airy spaces with a streamlined open feel.
5A Cammeray Road is a three bedroom home tailor made for contemporary urban family lifestyles. Open plan living space takes advantage of the full-length facades with stylish finishes over three levels overlooking the landscaped garden and pool. Large planks of solid recycled Ironbark stairs sit over steel framing and are cantilevered from a reinforced concrete block linking the elements to create a focal point within the space. The large planks are also used as seats as they are over 3 metres in length.
